The Central Regional Police Command has received support from the National Insurance Commission (NIC) to aid their operations.
The items which was presented to the Regional Police Command by NIC include bags, jackets and assorted food items.
Speaking to the media, the NIC Head in Central Region, Madam Nicholina Naa Yeye Adumuah who led the team to present the items cautioned drivers to be careful on the road amid the celebration of Christmas. He noted that the rate of road accidents is high in the region.
Reducing the incidence of road traffic crashes, injuries and death she also advised passengers to carefully take into consideration the insurance of commercial vehicles they boards.
The Regional Manager for Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA), Mr Lawrence Adom on his part indicated that the survival of the Authority depended largely on its customers. He appealed to drivers to obey road regulations and the use of sirens by private vehicles is also unlawful, therefore, called on them to desist from such acts.
He added, the incidence of road traffic crashes, injuries and death have great consequences on families and the nation, hence urging drivers who have been exchanging with the deployed personnel to stop such uncalled-for acts as their service is backed by law.
