Nigerian pensioners are planning a nationwide naked protest on December 8 to demand payment of long-overdue pension increases and other payments.
The Coalition of Federal Pensioners, says the government has failed to pay an approved pension increase of about $25 and an extra payment of about $20 for six months.
Its National Chairman Mukaila Ogunbote said the protest will take place in all states, targeting the offices of the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate and the Nigeria Television Authority.
He accused the Ministry of Finance and the Office of the Accountant General of ignoring pensioners’ complaints and urged all affiliated unions to mobilise:“We must show the wounds our clothes have been covering. The protest will continue until we receive payment”,
