Nigeria’s Federal Government has handed over two Benin Bronzes worth £2.5 million to the Oba of Benin.
The bronzes are named Okpa and Ilahor. In 2021, they were returned by UK institutions after they were stolen from the Benin empire during the British invasion.
The bronzes have been with the British authorities for the past 124 years.
In 1897, Britain looted 6,000 of Oba of Benin’s artifacts worth TENS of BILLIONS of Dollars.
