Fire officers at Nkawkaw have rescued a three-year-old child after falling into a latrine in Asuogya, a suburb of Nkawkaw in the Kwahu West Municipality.

The Ghana National Fire Service in Nkawkaw responded swiftly following a distress call received at 3:03 p.m. on Monday, March 23, 2026.
Upon arrival, the rescue team quickly assessed the situation and launched an operation to save the child, who was at risk of drowning. Despite challenging conditions, the firefighters successfully evacuated the child to safety.
The minor-victim was immediately taken to Holy Family Hospital for medical evaluation and treatment.
Eyewitnesses commended the firefighters for their swift action and professionalism, describing the rescue as timely and life-saving.
