Each beneficiary received a minimum of ₵1,000 to a maximum of 4,000 to help cover part of their tuition fees, bringing the total amount disbursed to ¢100,000.

The disbursement covers various Tertiary Education level including Nursing, Teacher Training, University and Masters in Law students.

Modalities:

All an applicant need is to provide an application letter for financial assistance and the school’s admission letter.

Speaking at a brief presentation ceremony in Thursday, March 26, Mr Frempong said the initiative was inspired by research he conducted during his tenure first term as an MP, which revealed the urgent need to support young people in the constituency to advance their education.

“When I assumed the Nkawkaw constituency seat as an MP in 2021,I did research which showed that children in this district needed help to advance their education,” he explained. “So, I pushed for a system that ensured that every money that comes to the assembly, i will move large chunk of it into the youth’s education.”

He recalled how the programme, which initially supported many students through teacher training and nursing colleges as well as universities, faced challenges but has now been revived and expanded.

“I have elevated the support for students. This is a batch of 70 students, and every one of them is receiving a minimum of ₵1,000, to a maximum of 4,000” he said.

The MP added that more students would benefit in the coming year.

“More students submitted their applications, and in the first quarter of 2026, we’re sharing ¢100,000 to support them. This will not be a one-time event. I’ve been doing it since 2021. We’ll continue to assist as and when applications come in,” he assured.

He encouraged the beneficiaries to make good use of the support and study hard to become future leaders.

One of the female beneficiaries expressed her gratitude for the assistance, saying, “I will use part of the money to pay my hostel fees, and I am very grateful for what the MP has done. God bless him for this support.”

Another beneficiary also shared how the initiative has eased his financial burden.

The MP reaffirmed his commitment to education in the constituency, emphasising that investing in young people remains a key priority of his leadership.

He urged the youth to desist from drug abuse and other social vices that will have dire effects on their future.

The MP noted that, female dropouts have become very high among school-going girls in Kwahu West, citing lack of parental control. He said, this development has birthed lot of unwanted pregnancies or school girls usually dropout after conceding pregnancy and fail to return to school afterwards.

However, the MP indicated that he’s prepared to contest for the third as MP for Nkawkaw.
