The Member of Parliament for Nkawkaw constituency, Hon. Joseph Frempong, has donated medical equipment to the Holy Family Hospital in Nkawkaw.
The items were donated by the MP during the commissioning of three new hospital projects on Thursday, February 29, 2023, in Nkawkaw, Kwahu West’s capital.
The equipment includes two oxygen concentrator machines costing GH¢27,720 each, a handheld pulse oxymeter, three pieces costing ¢5,000 each, four pieces of perfuses costing ¢12,000 each and two BPAP system machines costing ¢15,914 each, totalling a substantial amount of Gh¢174,268 cedis.
The MP, after the handover, urged the hospital management to ensure proper maintenance of the equipment.
“Today marks a special day for this facility, you’re doing a lot for Kwahu and Akyem because this facility is serving as a referral hospital for almost all the communities around us, including Afram Plains and to some extent, the Ashanti Region.
I wish to thank the administration for the good work you’ve been doing.
I’m here this morning to donate some items to the hospital. You have new buildings and you’re expanding your activities.
I will urge that these medical equipment be taken good care of, in that sense when next we’re presenting additional equipment, it will be for another project”, he stated.
The hospital administrator, Rev. Fr. Derrick Mawuli and the Medical Director of the facility, Dr. Adupoku Antwi expressed their gratitude to the MP for such a remarkable gesture and assured that the hospital will make good use of the equipment, save lives and add value to its operations.
