The Member of Parliament for Nkawkaw constituency, Mr. Joseph Frempong has donated some educational resources and roofing sheets to traditional leaders and the Education Directorate in the Municipal to boost his commitment to support education in the area.

Addressing a team of Press men at his office on Monday, June 20, the MP said, the roofing sheets donations was in response to the recent rain havoc that ripped off some schools in his constituency.

“The roofing sheets we are presenting here are in response to the schools that were affected by the recent rains. We are in rainy season, and if anything happens to these schools, the kids find it difficult to find a place to stay”, he said.

The affected schools including Monsie, Saafi, Danteng and other adjoining communities that are affected by the rains will benefit from the 100-packets of roofing sheets at a cost of Gh¢95,000. Over 15 schools are to benefit from the donations, according to the MP.

“If you go to Monsie, Saafi, Danteng and other towns, they have been affected by the rains. We bought these 100-packs of roofing sheets, costing us Gh¢95,000 and we are disbursing to the communities so they can re-roof the affected schools”, he added.

On the other hand, the MP will be donating educational materials including texts books and other forms of educational equipment to the Municipal Education Directorate to assist in the discharge of their duties.

Mr. Frempong however urged the beneficiaries to make proper use of the roofing in order for the communities especially, the students to benefit from.

“With these roofing sheets, we are not giving them because they are traditional leaders. They have constructed a school that needs roofing and urging them to make use of the these roofing sheets. Its been raining these days, schools have been ripping off, where wouldd teachers stay? Where would  students stay to learn, I believe they will make use of these materials”, he stated.

The donation made the MP was funded through the MPs common fund, according to the MP who spoke to Republic FM’s Andy Frimpong Manso.
