The medical supplies are part of a periodic consignment that are being made quarterly by Peace and Love hospital in Kumasi to assist hospitals within the Kwahu block.

“These are medical equipment from Peace and Love hospital in Kumasi. This is not the first time they are donating to us. They have been giving us medical supplies for a very long time. So there was the need for me to donate the items to the Municipal Health Directorate to distribute to hospitals within the constituency”,

He further cautioned the directorate, hospitals, nurses and doctors not to engage in the sale of the medical supplies donated to them to their patients.

“If we had gone to buy these items, possibly, it may have cost us around over ¢100,000 but Peace and Love is giving us freely, but then, we’re urging the hospitals, the nurses and the doctors, not to sell to their patients. These are the little things we can do to support ourselves. If you had it free and sell to others, that’s what we’re not encouraging”, he cautioned.

The Municipal health director, Madam Celestine Asante through the Eastern Regional health directorate, thanked the MP and assured that the medical supplies will be held accountable and ensure effective use of it.

“We’re grateful to the MP for this medical supplies. We appreciate his efforts of making sure that our people receive a proper medical attention. On behalf of our people and that of the MP, I’ll distribute these drugs as instructed and ensure that it meets the intended purpose”, she affirmed.

Some of the items donated are syringes, selected drugs, antibiotics, etc.

Mrs. Celestine Asante assured urged the general public to always seek proper medical care from health professionals and avoid self or unauthorized use of different sources of drugs.
