The Member of Parliament for Nkawkaw constituency, Joseph Frempong has handed over two mechanised boreholes to two communities.
The MP made the handover on Monday, March 6, on the sideline of the 66th Independence day celebration.
Speaking to a team of pressmen, the MP urged the two communities to preserve and inculcate a culture of maintenance to ensure the safety of the boreholes. The two communities are Nkawkaw – Kwamang and Oseikrom, a community along the Nkawkaw – Atibie road.
โWe promised to mechanise a borehole for you and we have done so therefore, I will urge you to make good use of it and protect it well so that our next visit will not base on repairing spoiled boreholes but rather on mechanised already ones that are not mechanised and also to construct a new borehole in this town. I know you have a community water committee so everything will depend on them to sell or not, you just have to take proper care of it and when you want another, it should be a new one, not that we’re coming back to repair this”, the MP said.
The sub-chiefs of the two communities expressed their interest to ensure that the mechanised boreholes are well protected. They also showed their profound gratitude to the MP for coming to their aid on time.
