Nana Owiredu Wadie I, Nkosouhene of Kwahu Nkwatia has feted over a 1000 children and provided 500 widows with bags of rice, chicken and eggs as part of activities to mark the Christmas and New Year celebrations.

The items were given out at the Freedom Hills hotel in Kwahu-Nkwatia and marked the climax of a week-long event by the charity organization of Nana Nkosouhene, the Kabaka Foundation, to bring Christmas cheer to the less privileged in society.

In an address, the Kwahu-Nkwatia Nkosouhene who doubles as the chairman of Kabaka foundation, Nana Owiredu Wadie I said he is committed to seeing to the welfare of the vulnerable, including widows and children in the Ghanaian society.

“It is always easy to feel forgotten when you have nobody to care for your needs but I want to assure you who are gathered here that God and my family headed by my father, Opanyin Kwame Wadie are concerned about your welfare and the children”. He stated

Let’s all help the less privileged in wherever we find ourselves. Government cannot do it all, Nana Wadie cannot do it all, everybody must come on board so Ghana will be a better place for us all”. Nana Owiredu Wadie the Nkusuohene of Nkwatia appealed.

The Assemblyman for the Dompem Electoral Area in Kwahu Nkwatia, Daniel Agyepong who graced the occasion called on individuals and groups to emulate the gesture by Nana Owiredu Wadie I and the Kabaka Foundation.

“He has been doing this consistently for many years and I will urge others to emulate what the Foundation is doing for the less privileged across the country,” he said.

Also present at the function were the Kyidomhene and Wompremhene of Kwahu Nkwatia as well as friends and family members.

Esther Omari Acheampong, one of the beneficiaries of the gesture, on behalf of the widows, appreciated the chief for his kind support to them over the years.
