The National Petroleum Authority (NPA), in collaboration with Vakpo Senior High School and its Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), on Monday, December 8, 2025, commissioned a newly constructed two-unit semi-detached staff bungalow for the school.
The project, funded as part of the Authority’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, is expected to ease the long-standing accommodation challenges faced by teachers and staff of Vakpo Senior High School.
Delivering a speech on behalf of the Chief Executive of the NPA, Mr. Godwin Kudzo Tameklo (Esq), the Director of Business Development, Mr. Godwin Konu, stated that the Authority was proud to be associated with the initiative and confident that the facility would significantly enhance the living and working conditions of teachers.
“Teachers perform at their best when they are well supported and motivated. It is the conviction of the Board and Management of the NPA that this facility will enhance the living and working conditions of the teachers, enabling them to deliver quality tuition and guidance to the students of this great institution. The Authority recognizes the importance of providing decent accommodation for teachers,” he said.
Reaffirming the Authority’s commitment to educational development, Mr. Tameklo noted that supporting education remains a priority for the NPA, particularly in regions where educational infrastructure is inadequate.
“Once again, the NPA is proud to be associated with this laudable project. As a proud son of this region, my commitment to the advancement of education here and across the country remains unwavering. The NPA is honoured to partner with the school and the PTA on this important initiative, and we look forward to continued collaboration in future endeavours,” he added.
The headmaster of Vakpo Senior High School, Togbe Foe Tsali II, was grateful to the NPA and the PTA for their support, emphasizing that the new bungalow will greatly improve staff welfare.
“This facility will bring relief to our teachers who have struggled with accommodation issues for many years. We are grateful to the NPA and the PTA for their support and commitment in prioritizing staff welfare,” he said.
The commissioning of the staff bungalow reaffirms the National Petroleum Authority’s dedication to supporting national development beyond its regulatory mandate in the downstream petroleum sector. The Authority maintains its commitment to strengthening CSR initiatives by partnering with institutions and communities across Ghana to create lasting impact.
The NPA delegation at the commissioning included the Director of Corporate Affairs, Mrs. Maria Oquaye; the Director of Quality Assurance, Mr. Setsoafia K. Agenoto; the Director of Consumer Services, Mrs. Eunice Budu-Nyarko; and other staff members.
