The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has clarified that former Member of Parliament for Dome Kwabenya, Sarah Adwoa Safo, was indeed informed about the postponement of her disciplinary committee hearing. This comes after Adwoa Safo expressed frustration over not being notified about the hearing’s cancellation.
Adwoa Safo was summoned to appear before the NPP’s Disciplinary Committee on April 7, 2025, due to alleged misconduct stemming from her recent media appearances, which the party claims violated its directives and fostered discontent within the party. However, upon arrival at the party’s headquarters, she found no committee in session, sparking concerns about communication.
NPP’s Deputy General Secretary, Haruna Mohammed addressed the issue, stating that Adwoa Safo’s counsel received a letter informing them of the postponement. He also mentioned having attempted to reach her directly on multiple occasions. “Her counsel received a letter. We have had the cause to have calls with her. Even me, I pointed to her that I’ve called on her numbers,” Haruna Mohammed explained.
Mohammed assured the public that the disciplinary committee remains committed to due process in addressing the matter. Adwoa Safo will be informed of the new hearing date in due course. The party has maintained respect for Adwoa Safo as a senior member while emphasizing the importance of clear communication in resolving disagreements
