NPP appoints regional reps. for vetting committee ahead of parliamentary primaries

The New Patriotic Party has set up various committees at regional levels to supervise the vetting of Parliamentary Aspirants in constituencies with incumbent Members of Parliament.

The New Patriotic Party has set up various committees at regional levels to supervise the vetting of Parliamentary Aspirants in constituencies with incumbent Members of Parliament.

In a statement signed by the party’s General Secretary, Justin Frimpong Kodua, vetting of aspirants will commence on Wednesday January 3, 2024 in all regional capitals and end on Friday January 5.

According to the General Secretary, regional executive committees are expected to communicate to their respective constituencies and aspiring parliamentary candidates the date, time and venue for the vetting.

The statement also mentioned that, vetting shall also be held for aspiring candidates in Bawku Central, Ketu North and the Akatsi North Constituencies.

In addition, the Party has formed a National Parliamentary Appeals Committee (NPAC) to consider appeals from aspirants and other stakeholders.

The Appeals Committee would be chaired by, Hon. Osei Prempeh with Mr. Evans Nimako as Secretary and other eight members.

Other eight members are; Hon. Opare Ansah, Madam Esther Ofori, Amb. R.O. Solomon, Prof. Emmanuel Flolu, Dr. Clifford Braimah, Hon. Eugenia Gifty Kusi, Dr. Kwaku Agyeman-Budu,  Alhaji Amadu Kalem.

The Parliamentary Primaries will take place on Saturday January 27, 2024.
