Former Minister for Trade and Industries and Presidential aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has said the Bono East region has benefited from 10 factories under the one District one Factory programme.
Mr. Kyeremanten said this when he visited the Techiman Traditional Council to interact with Council members and officially declare his intentions to contest for the flagbearership position of the New Patriotic Party.
In his interaction, Mr. Kyeremanten also stated that about 26 factories under the One District one Factory programme are operational across the country.
As part of Mr. Kyeremanten’s tour to various regions across the country to call on party members for support, he urged the people of Techiman to rally behind him to lead the party to victory in the 2024 elections.
He added that, if the youth of Techiman and the Bono East region as a whole give him the needed support, the NPP government under his leadership would see more jobs being created for the youth.
He further indicated that government could create employment for only 700,000 people hence the youth should take advantage of the Business Advisory Centre to acquire for themselves employable skills to enable them to get decent jobs to earn a living.
The acting President for the Techiman Traditional Council and Akwamuhene of the Traditional area, Nana Owusu Gyare II assured Mr. Kyeremanten of the council’s support and urged all other aspirants to practice peaceful campaigns devoid of personal attacks on a fellow aspirant and politician.
Nana Owusu Gyare II further added that the peaceful nature and the level of democracy which the country is known for should be maintained at all costs as the 2024 general election approaches.
Mr. Kyeremanten’s visit to the Bono East region follows a similar visit to the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi to officially inform the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II of his Presidential aspirations.
Alan John Kwadwo Kyeremanten is one of ten (10) aspirants seeking to lead the NPP to “break the eight” come 2024.
