Mr. Seth Bediako Asare, former communication Director for the New Patriotic Party in the Bono Region, has vehemently condemned Mr. Alan Kyeremanten, the leader of the Movement For Change Alliance, for stating that “Ghana is a predominantly Christian nation, hence the need to vote for a true Christian to demonstrate Christ-like governance.”

Mr Asare Bediako described the statement as divisive, reckless, and unfortunate, noting that it surprised some NPP members that such a divisive statement would come from Mr Alan Kyeremanten, a politician who has been in the political game for several years due to desperation.

He stated that the comment has caused Alan Kyeremanten to lose respect in the eyes of Ghanaians, so he must publicly apologise to Ghanaians for the unfortunate comment he made.

Mr. Asare Bediako Seth stated that while the comment is unfortunate, it will have no bearing on Dr. Bawumia’s candidature for the 2024 general elections because there are no quarrels or misunderstandings between the Muslim and Christian communities in the country, implying that if there is any negative impact, it will be on Alan Kyeremanten for using divisive words in his address to the masses.

Finally, Mr Justice Siaw Mandela, a political analyst, explained that Mr. Alan Kyeremanten’s decision to break away from the NPP to form his own movement was the beginning of the end of his political career, implying that nothing gives hope for Mr. Alan Kyeremanten’s presidential candidature and that he may only want to demonstrate his political worth before retiring from active politics.
