The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has raised serious allegations against the National Democratic Congress (NDC) regarding disruptions at collation centers during the 2024 parliamentary elections.

In a press conference held on December 16, 2024, the NPP’s Electoral and Legal Affairs Committee accused the NDC of deploying party loyalists to sabotage the collation process in constituencies where the NPP claims victory.

According to the NPP, the NDC’s actions include destroying electoral materials, attacking officials, and coercing returning officers to declare their candidates as winners under duress.

Constituencies reportedly affected by these disruptions include Ablekuma North, Tema Central, Dome Kwabenya, and Okaikwei Central, among others.

The NPP insists its candidates have won these seats based on data from polling station pink sheets and has called on the Electoral Commission (EC) to resume collation processes under adequate security measures.

The party also urged the NDC leadership to control their supporters to ensure peace and uphold democratic processes.

The EC has since clarified that no official declarations have been made for constituencies with incomplete collations and has reiterated its commitment to lawful electoral procedures.

Meanwhile, tensions remain high as both parties prepare for potential legal and procedural battles over the disputed results.
