Former Trade and Industry Minister, Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, has submitted his nomination forms to contest the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primaries.
He becomes the first among the eleven candidates who have so far filed his nomination forms to contest the party’s presidential primaries.
Mr. Keyeremanten was accompanied by current and former Members of Parliament as well as several party bigwigs to submit the nominations on Monday, June 12, 2023.
In his engagement with the media after filing his nomination forms, he said the New Patriotic Party (NPP) needs someone who is capable to lead them to break the 8.
“I want to use this opportunity to make a passionate appeal to the delegates who will be voting in our national delegates conference on the 4th of November. As delegates, you are representing not only your own interest but also the rank and file of our party.
What the rank and file of our party are asking for is that they need a new leader who will satisfy five basic conditions. They are looking for a leader who will help our party to break the 8 in 2024 and help NPP to succeed in power,” he said.
He further stated that he will have the honour of leading the NPP to break the 8, and called for support from the delegates.
