The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has issued new guidelines that will allow the party to hold its national executive elections between September 18 and 20, 2026.
General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong announced the timelines at a press conference on Wednesday, February 18, 2026.
According to him, the processes and procedures for the national executive elections will begin with the opening and closing of nominations from August 10 to 14, 2026.
Filing of nominations will take place from August 15 to 17, while vetting of aspirants is scheduled for August 20 to 23.
The vetting report will be presented on August 25, with appeals to be heard from August 28 to 29.
“The national executive elections are as follows: The processes and procedures, opening and closing of nominations, shall be from August 10 to 14; filing of nominations shall be from August 15 to 17; vetting of aspirants shall be from August 20 to 23; reading of the vetting report shall be on August 25; and appeals shall be taken from August 28 to 29. The elections shall be held between September 18 and 20, 2026,” he announced.
Mr Kodua Frimpong disclosed that the tenure of some party officials will expire during the electoral period, and their mandates have been extended to ensure smooth internal elections.
He has also indicated that “the process of registration of members will start from March 1 to 31, 2026. The data entry of members who have been registered will be between April 1 and April 10, 2026. After the data entry, there will be verification of its members from April 14 to 16, 2026.”
