Communication Minister, Ursula Owusu Ekuful, has declared her intention to contest for the Ablekuma West seat for the fourth time in the upcoming New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Primaries.
Speaking to the media on the sidelines of a carnival in Dansoman in Accra on Monday, Owusu-Ekuful expressed her commitment to continue the developmental work in the constituency.
She mentioned that she is looking forward to winning the parliamentary primaries to represent the NPP in the upcoming 2024 election.
“We are going again, and our primaries will be on the 22nd of January, I am looking forward to winning the nod of the people of this constituency because they have seen the work that we have done. Roads, schools, police stations, courthouses, job opportunities, loans for those who need small loans, skills training, and acquisition and slot. We have done a lot of work in this constituency”, she said.
She hopes that members of Ablekuma West will give her the opportunity for the fourth time to continue the good work in the constituency.
“And I am hopeful that the people of this constituency will give me the nod to continue to represent them so that we can continue to develop this constituency,” she stated.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) announced that nomination in constituencies that have incumbent Members of Parliament will commence on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, and close on Monday, December 25, 2023.
In a presser dated Thursday, December 7, 2023, it stated that the party has rescheduled its parliamentary primaries in these constituencies to Saturday, January 27, 2024, however, the party shall impose stringent sanctions on any member found to have violated these guidelines.
