Ing. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong’s 2028 presidential campaign team has dismissed recent media claims that their candidate faces disqualification from the upcoming New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primaries over an alleged unpaid development fee of Ghc4 million.

The campaign team refuted reports that Ing. Agyepong was given a 48-hour ultimatum to pay the fee or risk disqualification.

In an official statement signed by Nana Ama Asantewaa Kwarko, spokesperson for the KAA 2028 campaign, the team stressed that the allegations are baseless and intended to mislead the public and party supporters.

She stated “The attention of the Kwabena Agyei Agyepong 2028 Campaign Team has been drawn to certain misleading publications and social media rumours suggesting that Ing. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong has been disqualified from the upcoming New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential Primaries.

“The campaign team wishes to categorically state that these reports are entirely false, unfounded, and should be disregarded by the general public and party faithfuls,” the statement read.

The campaign reiterated that Ing. Agyepong successfully passed the vetting process conducted by the Presidential Elections Committee.

“Ing. Agyepong successfully went through the Presidential Elections Committee’s vetting process, as confirmed by the official invitation from the NPP Headquarters to participate in the balloting scheduled for Friday, October 10, 2025, at the party headquarters, Asylum Down,” she added.

The team used the opportunity to assure supporters and the general public that Ing. Agyepong remains a qualified, committed, and loyal aspirant.

They emphasized his dedication to the democratic values of the NPP and his commitment to advancing Ghana’s development.

“We call on the public to ignore such false claims, which are clear attempts to distract from the unity, vision, and focus of our campaign,” the campaign team noted.
