Member of Parliament for Dome Kwabenya, Sarah Adwoa Safo has been defeated by Michael Ocquaye Jr in the New Patriotic Party’s parliamentary primaries.

Heading into the primaries the incumbent MP was hopeful of retaining her slot to represent the party in the 2024 elections but at the end of Saturday’s polls Adwoa Sarfo secured 328 votes while Michael Ocquaye Jnr emerged winner with 1,194 votes.

Sarah Adwoa Safo’s defeat does not come as a surprise to many as her constituents have lost hope in her in the past years.
