The NPP constituency Chairman in the Offinso North constituency of the Ashanti Region, Mr. Mogma Johnson, has disclosed that Offinso North district is a solid ground for Vice President Dr. Alhaji Mahamud Bawumia as far as the party’s presidential primaries are concerned.
In an exclusive interview, the party Chairman indicated that the NPP Offinso North branch votes on the agreement and consensus building by party executives, which is also channelled to all those who matter in an election process to ensure that a good and competent leader is chosen to steer the affairs of the party for a successful future.
He added that the Offinso North branch of the party, after a series of deliberations, decided to vote for Dr. Bawumia to lead the party in the upcoming general elections, explaining that although all the 10 presidential aspirants fit for the flagbearer position, Bawumia is the choice who can execute more tasks in ensuring success for Ghana and the party when given the mandate to serve as president.
Mr. Johnson further disclosed that most of the party supporters in the various communities within Offinso North and its environs are rooting for Bawumia and have threatened doom for the party should delegates fail to make him their flagbearer.
Again, chairman Mogma revealed that the vice president, as part of his campaign tour in the Ashanti region, will visit Offinso North on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at Afrancho R/C School from 8 a.m. to meet delegates and party executives for a discussion on his flagbearer ambition and other matters.
Finally, Chairman Mogma Johnson justified why Bawumia must be given the flagbearership position among the other contestants, explaining that he is a respectful leader and has in-depth knowledge of governance and leadership, hence his massive contribution as Vice President of the country.
On November 4, 2023, the New Patriotic Party will choose a presidential candidate to run in the 2024 general election.
