The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Frimpong Kodua has announced that, a parliamentary primary election at Manhyia South will be held on Sunday, July 14, 2024.
This announcement comes after incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) of the constituency, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, commomly known as NAPO was declared as the party’s running mate for the upcoming general elections.
In a statement signed by the party’s secretary on Friday, July 5, he hinted that, nominations will be opened on Monday, July 8, 2024, and would be closed on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 while the election will be conducted on Sunday, July 14.
“An aspiring parliamentary candidate (APC) shall procure nominations forms after the payment of a non-refundable applicating fee of GH¢3000 in bankers draft in favour of the NPP national headquarters, Accra.”
“To successfully file the nomination, an APC shall pay a non-refundable filing fee of GH¢35,000 in bankers draft in favour of the NPP, Headquarters, Accra,” he stated.
Justin Kodua further noted that, women, youth and persons with disabilities (PWDs) will receive a 50% discount on the filing fees.
“This means they will be required to pay a non-refundable filing fee of GH17,500. To ensure clarity, we define a youth as an individual between the ages of 18 and 40,” he added.
