The National Service Authority (NSA) has announced a press briefing on Monday to address recent developments surrounding postings for the 2025/2026 national service year after several thousands of prospective personnel missed out on last week’s deadline.
The briefing is scheduled for Monday, December 15, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. and will take place at the headquarters of the Authority in Accra.
According to the NSA, the engagement will provide clarity on emerging issues related to the service posting process and outline steps being taken to ensure a smooth implementation of the upcoming service year.
The Director-General of the National Service Authority, Ms. Ruth Dela Seddoh, is expected to lead the briefing and respond to questions from the media on matters arising from the 2025/2026 postings. The Authority indicated that the session forms part of its responsibility to keep the public and key stakeholders informed about policies and administrative decisions affecting prospective national service personnel.
In a statement issued ahead of the event, the NSA said the briefing is intended to promote transparency and accountability in the execution of its mandate.
The Authority noted that national service postings remain a matter of significant public interest, particularly among final-year tertiary students, graduates, and institutions that rely on service personnel.
The NSA also emphasised the importance of engaging directly with the media as a way of providing accurate information and addressing concerns that may arise during the posting process.
By doing so, the Authority hopes to prevent misinformation and ensure that stakeholders receive timely and reliable updates.
Members of the media have been invited to attend the briefing in person, while the general public and other stakeholders are encouraged to follow proceedings through the NSA’s official communication platforms. The Authority said updates and key outcomes from the session will be shared across its verified channels to reach a wider audience.
National service postings are a critical component of Ghana’s mandatory service scheme, which places graduates in public and private institutions across the country for a year of national duty.
The process often attracts attention due to its impact on employment pathways, institutional staffing, and regional distribution of service personnel.
The briefing announcement comes after the Director-General issued a statement last Friday announcing that the NSA portal would close by the end of the day.
Meanwhile, the National Service Authority (NSA) has denied allegations that some prospective service personnel are being offered paid preferential postings, insisting that such claims are entirely false and intended to mislead the public.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, the Authority stressed that it neither charges nor accepts any form of payment to influence postings or repostings, noting that all deployments remain merit-based, transparent and fully automated in accordance with national service regulations.
