Eight teenage girls have been arrested for allegedly breaking into a home, stealing over Ghc 20,000 in cash and valuables at Nkwanta South in the Oti Region.

According to the girls, whose ages range from 13 to 17, they are part of a gang that has been monitoring the victim.

The victim whose identity is yet to be known is said to have fallen victim to a series of robberies.

The girls are reported to have confessed that they only  act during school breaks when the victim is away from the house.

Reports suggest that one of the suspects who is currently at large with her parents has benefited approximately Ghc2,000 from the theft.

The police urges the public to provide any information that could assist with ongoing investigations.
