The body of a first-year student of Bueman Senior High school identified as AGBANU GODFRED was found lifeless in water at Pusupu, a farming community in the Nkwanta South Municipality of the Oti Region.
This happened after two days of non-stop rain that got all the roads in the area flooded.
GODFRED returned from Accra to prepare for school since school has resumed. Unfortunately, on his way, the motorbike he was riding drowned with him.
The assembly member for Pisupu electoral area, Jeremiah Mensah said all efforts to get the body out of the water on Monday proved futile but eventually, the body was retrieved on Tuesday, September, 6 and efforts are being made to bury the body.
Some of the residents also expressed worry about the deplorable nature of their roads and called on the government to help fix their bridges.
However the member of parliament for the Nkwanta South constituency, Dr Geoffrey Kini visited the area to sympathize with the family and to assess the situation on grounds.
