Police in the Oti Region are investigating a domestic assault case after a man allegedly bit off his wife’s ear.
The suspect, Emmanuel Adsai, a resident of Dambai, the regional capital of Oti Region, allegedly attacked his wife, Cecilia Fordjour.
According to Ms. Fordjour, the incident occurred after Mr. Adsai returned from a funeral.
She was preparing to serve him food when, without provocation, he demanded she leave the house.
When she didn’t, the situation escalated and he allegedly bit off her ear.
Medical officials at KOPAH Clinic, a private health facility in Dambai, have confirmed that the victim’s ear cannot be surgically reattached due to the delay in receiving medical care.
Following the incident, Mr. Adsai reportedly filed a counter-report with the police, accusing his wife of assaulting him.
