Office of the President submits annual report on staff to Parliament

The Office of the President has indicated that a total of Three hundred and sixty-one (361) people work as staff at the presidency.

The Office of the President has indicated that a total of Three hundred and sixty-one (361) people work as staff at the presidency.

This number was revealed in a statement from the presidency indicating its submission of an annual report on staffing at the highest office of the land to Parliament.

The total number comprises two state ministers, forty-four senior Presidential staffers, and three hundred and fifteen political appointees.

According to the statement, out of the 361 political appointees at the office of the President, only 163 work physically at the Jubilee House while the other appointees work in the offices they have been assigned.

“It is also instructive to note that in keeping with the established practice of the previous government in the 4th republic includes assistants to regional ministers, ministers of state, employees of the office of the Vice President, first and second ladies as well as employees assigned to government agencies”

The statement further noted that in addition to the political appointees at the office of the president, employees of public sector organizations assigned to the office of the president were included
