A 36-year-old man, Kwabena Anokye, has been killed in Offinso, Ashanti Region, following a violent confrontation sparked by a domestic dispute.

Reports suggest that Anokye challenged Akwasi Anyam regarding Anyam’s relationship with Anokye’s former partner, Agyeiwaa.

The ensuing fight left Anokye dead and Anyam injured from machete wounds.

Available details indicate that while Anokye and Agyeiwaa shared a child, Anokye reportedly failed to take responsibility for the child’s upbringing.

Consequently, Agyeiwaa ended the relationship and began dating Anyam. Prior to the fatal incident, Anokye is said to have confronted Agyeiwaa and pleaded with her not to break up with him.

Agyeiwaa informed him that she would consider staying only if he accepted responsibility for their child and provided for her financial needs.

When Anokye refused, Agyeiwaa chose to move on with Anyam.

Angered by the situation, Anokye later confronted Anyam, but the encounter escalated into a physical fight that resulted in Anokye’s death.

The local Assembly Member, Boakye Ansah Badu, confirmed the incident, noting that Anyam is currently in police custody while the body of the deceased has been moved to the mortuary for preservation and further investigation.
