Ohemaa Mercy’s former marketing manager granted bail

The Accra Circuit court 6 has granted Ghc2000 bail to Kwaku Osei Korankye Asiedu, former marketing manager for renowned gospel musician Ohemaa Mercy over alleged threats.

The two who had collaborated in the music industry since 2021, with Asiedu working as Ohemaa Mercy’s marketer. However, their professional relationship soured after Asiedu claimed he wasn’t credited for previous work.

Between July and September 2024, Asiedu sent Ohemaa Mercy audio recordings demanding GHC8,500. He allegedly threatened her, saying “Ghana cannot contain the two of them” if she failed to pay.

On August 30, 2024, Asiedu issued an ultimatum, warning Ohemaa Mercy to pay by 6 pm or face consequences.

He also took to his Facebook page Kwaku Osei Korankye Asiedu to intimidate her.

Ohemaa Mercy reported the threats to the police on August 30, 2024. Despite being invited for questioning, Asiedu failed to appear.

Police arrested Asiedu on September 18, 2024, at Afrikiko near TV3, and he was taken to the regional CID for investigation.

The case has been adjourned to October 23, 2024.
