A group of old students of Ebenezer Senior High School popularly known as Paduans, North American Association, have renovated six [6] classrooms in the school.
The Padua North America Association was formed in July 2021 with the aim of bringing together past students of the school residing in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
The association was formed to bring resources together to help improve the physical infrastructure of the school and to also assist in improving academic performance.
Speaking at the handing over ceremony of the renovated classrooms to management of the school, the secretary of Padua North America Chapter, Mr. Liquenda Daniel Allotey of the 1982 year group revealed that it costs the association Gh¢100,000 to renovates the six classrooms.
He said, the renovation exercise forms part of their corporate social responsibility of giving back to society and help provide a better learning environment for the students.
Mr. Allotey said the renovation work is the first of many projects that Paduans North America expects to undertake in the school.
“Some members of the association are also sponsoring yearly academic awards for students, while some are adopting and executing projects on their own. We believe there is joy in making a difference in the lives of others.” He added
Mr. Allotey charged management and the student body to manage and protect those investments that the old students have made, and to ensure that the renovated classrooms are regularly maintained.
He thanked all those whose monetary contributions made the renovation a reality including Rev. Dr Emmanuel Ahia Clottey and Mr. Joseph Barnor for their assistance in managing the project for Padua North America.
Mr. Liquenda Daniel Allotey on behalf of the President – Dr. Eric Addae, the executive team, and the entire membership of Padua North America Association, handed over the 6 renovated classrooms keys to the Assistant Headmaster, Mr. Pius Yaw Osei.
In receiving the keys to the renovated classrooms, the Assistant Headmaster in charge of Academics of Ebenezer Senior High School, Mr. Pius Yaw Osei expressed appreciation to Padua North America chapter for remembering the school.
He assured of the school authority’s commitment in ensuring proper maintenance and protection of the renovated classrooms to last longer.
The Head Girls prefect of Ebenezer Senior High School, Ms Patience Prempeh, thanked the Padua North America Association for giving them a conducive classroom environment suitable for learning, and on behalf of the students, promised to make good use of the classrooms.
In another development, the Vice President for 1982 year group of Ebenezer Senior High School, Ms. Bertha Mawusi Kwami on behalf of the group’s 40 years anniversary celebration, donated 10 dust bins to the school and called on the students to improve the sanitation situation in the school.
Also, Rev. Dr. Emmanuel Ahia Clottey on behalf of the 1982 Old year group, presented an amount of Gh¢2,000.00 to support the school’s 80th anniversary celebration.
