Ghanaian boxer Samuel Takyi has won his country’s first Olympic medal since 1992.

The 20-year-old took the featherweight bronze after losing his semi-final to the USA’s Duke Ragan.

Ghana’s last medal came – also a bronze – came in football at the Barcelona Games.

Elsewhere, Ese Brume claimed bronze in the women’s long jump to win Nigeria’s first athletics medal of the Games.

He beats Jean Caicedo of Ecuador in the first round.
