Personnel from the Peki Fire Station responded to a road traffic accident at Peki Tsame near Mawutor Inn on the Peki–Asikuma highway.
The team, led by ADO I Godwin Gbedemah, rescued sixteen passengers (8 males, 7 females, and 1 child) who sustained varying degrees of injuries after a Toyota Hiace (GT 7012-24) suffered a rear tyre burst and somersaulted.
All victims were conveyed by the National Ambulance Service to the Peki Government Hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, one victim later died at the hospital, while the others are reported to be in stable condition.
