One unidentified person has been murdered in the Nima- Maamobi Clash in the Greater Accra region yesterday, according to reports.
The incident which happened on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, had two factions from Nima and Maamobi respectively engaged in a fight had so far left one person dead.
Reports indicated that the incident happened around Afro Arab through to the Maamobi black market and subsequently ended at Maamobi gutter.
The reports revealed that one suspect from a gang in Nima was caught off in a fight with some well known factions at the Maamobi gutter area who was beaten by the gang.
According to reports, the suspect later retreated and mobilized for reinforcement and called for one well known Kumordzi who was also beaten to pulp together with his squadrons.
According Eyewitness, Kumordzi came back for revenge yesterday and was later resisted by the Maamobi gang who could not fathom why they could sit aloof for Kumordzi and his squadrons to trample over them since its their territory.
The irate Maamobi youth pulled up guns and machete to clashed with Kumordzi’s gang who at that time were coming with sticks and machetes.
Reports from Angel FM revealed that, one person was laid down, strangled and his head being pummeled until the head was simply cut off. The Maamobi irate gang says it is not backing down until they avenge the death of their colleague who has been beheaded by Kumordzi’s gang.
“ Can you imagine one person was beheaded? He was laid down, and some of the guys held him until his head was cut open. The Maamobi gang says they must avenge the death of their brother, until there will be no peace in the area. For now, four people have been killed simultaneously” the report said.
Meanwhile, the National Chief Imam has condemned the unfortunate incident being perpetrated by youth from the Islamic community.
He has also summoned all the regional Imam in the sixteen regions who are currently in his residence at Fadama to discuss the matter.
Personnel from The Formed Police Unit of the Ghana Police Service has so secured the entire area with hard security checks across the area.
