An Assistant District Planning Officer at Yunyoo-Nasuan Assembly was shot and killed by armed robbers in the early hours of Friday, 10 October 2025, in a robbery attack on the Bunkpurugu-Nakpanduri stretch of the North East region.
The victim, identified as Jaba-Nakuuk Nampaak Robert, was traveling on a Metro Bus with registration number GN-5180 from Bunkpurugu to Tamale.
According to an eyewitness narration, the bus was close to Nakpanduri town when the armed robbers attacked it.
Three other passengers also sustained injuries and were rushed to the hospital for medical care.
Details available indicate that the robbery occurred around 2:27 a.m. on the Duuklotuk–Nakpanduri highway, when armed men reportedly attempted to stop the moving bus using torchlights.
The driver of the bus, however, refused to stop, sensing the individuals could be armed men.
The attackers then opened fire on the vehicle, leading to the death of Jaba-Nakuuk Nampaak.
