Member of Parliament for Mpraeso, Davis Opoku, popularly known as OPK, has apologised to his former colleague, Sarah Adjoa Safo, for accusing her wrongly during her difficult times.
OPK’s apology comes after he listened to Adjoa Safo’s recent interviews, where she revealed that she was sick during her absence from Parliament.
OPK, who has also experienced health issues, expressed his sympathy for Adjoa Safo and criticised the nature of politics that requires MPs to work even when they are sick.
He also questioned the fairness of the NPP’s decision to drag Adjoa Safo before the disciplinary committee for discussing party issues in public, while other members have made similar comments without consequences.
OPK urged the leadership to be more thoughtful and sensitive in their decision-making, rather than hastily hauling people before the disciplinary committee.
He also advised members to have confidence in the Mike Oquaye committee, which is tasked with addressing internal party issues.
In an interview with Okay FM, OPK emphasized the need for leadership to be more empathetic and understanding, particularly when dealing with sensitive issues.
