Their first stop was at Oyoko Akrofrom, where the Minister ceremoniously commissioned and delivered 26 housing units from the State Housing Company to the Ghana Immigration Service at the prestigious J.A. Continuing their journey, the entourage inspected completed storm drains in Bantama, underscoring the government’s dedication to enhancing urban infrastructure and resilience against flooding.
Ampabame witnessed the Minister’s oversight of ongoing construction efforts on the Bohyen phase 1 storm drain, a testament to proactive measures in mitigating environmental challenges.
In a moment of diplomatic significance, Hon. Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah paid homage to the Asantehene, Otumfour Osei Tutu II.
During this meeting, the revered monarch stressed the urgency of expediting flood mitigation efforts, endorsing collaborative efforts with the private sector to alleviate the housing shortage.
The day’s agenda concluded with a visit to Dedesua, where Minister Oppong-Nkrumah surveyed a generous 200-acre land allocation graciously provided by Otumfour Osei Tutu II for the Affordable Housing Programme.
He directed the State Housing Company to mobilize promptly, with plans to commence works on a groundbreaking Kumasi affordable housing project in partnership with the private sector set to unfold by the end of May.
