Organized labour, has called off its strike and directed staff to return to work on Tuesday, July 16.
The decision follows the termination of the sale of 60 percent shares of SSNIT hotels to Rock City hotel.
On Friday July 12, 2024, organized labour threatened to lay down their tools today, Monday, July 15, 2024 after the National Pensions Regulatory Authority’s (NPRA) approved the sales of the hotels.
Meanwhile, Organized labour, Judiciary Service Staff Association of Ghana (JUSAG) and the Ghana Medical Association (GMA) in respective statements released on Monday July 15, called of the strike and directed workers to return to work on Tuesday July 16.
However, Organized labour has given a four (4) week ultimatum to government to address other concerns raised.
“We are giving SSNIT one month to engage organized labour to address all outstanding issues related to the management of our pensions otherwise we advise ourselves”, the statement form organized labour indicated.
