A non-profit community-based organization, Osino Development Forum-Ghana,(ODEF-GH), has presented thousands of educational materials to public schools within the Fanteakwa South District Capital, Osino.

“Osino Development Forum – ODEF-GH, has been formed by a group of people from Osino, both home and abroad. We look at some of the critical issues confronting our community, and we came to the conclusion of undertaking this initiative in the education sector. So we decided to share 7,000 exercise books and other educational materials to all public schools in our community. It forms part of commitment to giving back to the Society. A4 sheets, pencils, sharpeners, pens and erasers have been given. We shared the materials from the KG through to the Junior High”,

In 2023, the group shared 5,000 books in its maiden initiative. This year’s initiative marks the second time the group is undertaking such a great initiative.
The PRO noted with grace concern that most children living in the area are facing challenges in the provision of educational support from their parents, hence the decision to form the forum.

Maestro used the opportunity and urged all well-meaning residents from Osino to join hands and support the course of the association.

He indicated that the initiative will go a long way to breed a new set of positive human forces for the community.

District Education Director for Fanteakwa South, Commended ODEF-GH and implored the students to prioritize the opportunity given to them. He called on the association to include the plight of the teachers in their projects and also extend the gesture to other communities in the Fanteakwa South District.

The education director further urged students to stay away from their involvement in Galamsey activities and focus on their books.

The benefiting schools were Roman Catholic, Methodist, Presby, D/A, Amoatia Ofori Panin Model School and Islamic.
