The news surrounding the former Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources, Cecilia Abena Dapaah, seems to never end as the Special Prosecutor discovers more cash in the former minister’s home.
The Genesis of the issue began on July 21, when the news broke that two house helps were put before court for allegedly stealing some $1 million, 300k euros and valuable items worth millions of cedis belonging to madam Cecilia and her husband.
The news subsequently led to the Special Prosecutor taking up the case with series of search leading to her resigning as minister.
Information emerging from the Office of the Special Prosecutor, reveals that a sum of US$590,000 alongside over GHC 2.7 million cash was found during the search conducted at the Abelemkpe residence of the former Minister.

The OSP subsequently froze all accounts of the former minister.
An Accra High Court has however set Thursday, August 17, to rule on the confirmation or otherwise of the freezing of Cecilia Dapaah’s cedi and dollar accounts.
