The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring free, fair, and transparent presidential and parliamentary elections in 2024 by cracking down on corruption, fraud, and other unfair practices.
In a statement signed by Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng, the OSP cautioned all individuals involved in the electoral process particularly those handling vote counting, collation, and result transmission that falsifying vote accounts or making false returns is a serious offence punishable by law.
The statement further reminded the public that acts such as vote buying, vote selling, intimidation, violence, voter impersonation, and tampering with the electoral process are strictly prohibited. The OSP assured citizens that it is fully prepared to address any reported incidents swiftly and decisively.
“The Office is alive to its mandate and would promptly address any such occurrence which comes to its notice,” the statement emphasized.
The Special Prosecutor urged all stakeholders to uphold the integrity of the elections and pledged to use the OSP’s anti-corruption powers to safeguard the process.
