The Kwahu South Municipal Chief Executive, Mr. Emmanuel Ofori Atta Snr. has pledged to provide adequate security to ensure a violence-free celebration for revellers coming to Kwahu for this year’s festival.

The MCE, while speaking to Kwame Koranteng on Republic FM’s Anopa Dawuro on Monday, April 11, outlined three (3) critical points that persons coming to Kwahu must have in mind.

While stating his points, Mr. Emmanuel Ofori Atta Snr. noted that, persons coming to Kwahu must first dress decently and preserve the uniqueness of the Ghanaian people in order not to cause any mayhem between miscreants and security officials.

The preparations, according to the MCE made by the people to celebrate the Easter is overwhelming, hence the Assembly will not relent until the maximum provision of security to protect lives and property are achieved.

“There are three things I will want people to know. Our dressing should be descent and affable in so doing, we will all have peace to celebrate the Easter but one thing I can assure everyone is that, the Assembly will not relent because the preparations made by the masses are overwhelming”,

Mr. Ofori Atta revealed that the Odweanoma Paragliding site road is currently been coated and will be completed by the Thursday, April 14.

Two major roads that lead to the Kwahu Mountains, according to the MCE, persons coming to the Kwahu Mountains must use the Nkawkaw Kuma – Atibie road and descend down from the mountains to Nkawkaw through the Nkawkaw Nsuta – Obomeng road. This, according to the MCE, is to prevent road accidents and ensure one way traffic.

The MCE admonished the people to bear in mind and adhere to the Covid-19 protocols although restrictions have been eased.

He added that, the Assembly has begun a Food Screening for the past three weeks, hence individuals willing to engage in food vending must obtain permit to trade during the festivities.

The Kwahu South Assembly in conjunction with the Kwahu Traditional Council, Kwahu East and West Assemblies are embarking on a revenue piloting program on how to mobilize funds during the Kwahu Easter.

Already, a private company has collaborated with the various Assemblies and the traditional council and roll out a sticker dubbed “Park n Ride” for vehicles owners to move at ease during the festival.

The MCE revealed that, a total of 1,000 security officials have been deployed to man the festival.

“This year i can assure there is tight security. we have deployed 1,000 security officials to man the festival”
