About 35 passengers have been burnt to death when a bus caught fire at the Police Barrier in Akomadan on the Offinso-Nkenkasu road in the Ashanti Region.

The bus, believed to be an OA Bus was heading to Kumasi from Lawra in the Upper West Region when the accident occurred.

The vehicle which was carrying about 37 passengers as at the time of the accident caught fire after crashing into a stationary vehicle at a Police Check Point at Akomadan.

“Some of the passengers tried hard to break the glass and exit while several others were heard screaming in pain as the fire burnt the bus…,” eyewitness said.
