Ghana’s 4 x 100m relay team at the ongoing 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France have failed to progress to the finals of the competition.
The team which was Ghana’s hope of possibly securing a medal after being one of the best teams on the Continent finished sixth and was also disqualified during the baton change from Fuseini to Joe Paul.
The outcome means Ghana is out of the competition without a medal.
China however won the heat with a time of 38.24 seconds with France and Canada finishing second and third in a time of 38.34 seconds and 38.39 seconds respectively.
China, France and Canada automatically qualify to the finals after the United States of America, France and Great Britain finished in the top three spots accordingly in Heat one
Ghana’s relay team on the day was made up of Abdul-Rasheed Saminu, Benjamain Azamati, Ibrahim Fuseini, and Joseph Paul Amoah.
