The Alliance of Drivers-Ghana (ADG) has called on all drivers in the country to park their vehicles if fuel prices are not reduced in the coming days.

The rampant increase in prices of fuel especially petrol and diesel in the country affects all other goods and services and this has caused several agitations among citizens.

Alliance of Drivers, Ghana is an organization that seeks to protect the welfare of drivers in the country

According to them, it is not easy for Ghanaians at this point as this increment has contributed immensely to the increase in general prices of goods and services.

Businesses are suffering, and passengers and drivers are fighting daily because of upwards adjustments in transport fares.

In a press statement signed by the national chairman, Alhaji Yahya Isiaka, they call on all drivers to park their cars until further notice.

The oil marketing companies are also taking advantage and using dubious means to charge exorbitantly.

The market women are also taking advantage of the current economic hardships to sabotage the system, the statement indicated.

The statement further indicated that government must sit up and reduce some of the fuel taxes and if possible, introduce other subsidization policies on petroleum products.

“If the above suggestions are not adhered to by the government, we will urge all drivers and transport operators to put on hold all transport businesses.

We believe it can be done and be done well if proper consultation is done.

Let’s all have the country at heart and work together to raise the name of this country high,” the statement concluded.

Petrol currently sells at about GH¢18 while diesel sells at about GH¢23 per litre.
