Parliament has approved the nomination of Lariba Zuweira Abudu as the Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection and Francisca Oteng Mensah as her Deputy.
This comes after madam the two were vetted by the Appointment Committee of Parliament last Thursday, December 15, 2022.
Madam Lariba Zuweira Abudu and Francisca Oteng Mensah both answered questions on women and children development in the country.
On July 28, 2022, President Akufo-Addo revoked the appointment of Adwoa Safo as the Gender Minister at the time Parliament was debating her continuous stay in the house after absenting herself from Parliament for more than 15 sitting days.
The President subsequently nominated Lariba Zuweira Abudu and Francisca Oteng Mensah on August 2, 2022, to be considered as the Minister and Deputy for Gender Children and Social Protection respectively.
