A philanthropist and head pastor of Galaxy End Time Church in Bekwai Amoamo in the Ashanti region, Pastor Emmanuel Dwamena Asiamah has donated Gh₵5,000 to nursing mothers at Bekwai Municipal Government Hospital.
The philanthropist donated Gh₵5,000 through his nongovernmental organisation to help nursing mothers and their babies in maternity wards.
The pastor donates and pays medical bills for the hospital’s needy patients every year.
This intervention has been beneficial because many nursing mothers who delivered and experienced complications during childbirth had to pay large bills.
“It troubles our heart when a mother is discharged after delivery but because she is unable to pay her bills still stays in the hospital”, he said.
Speaking with the Medical Superintendent of Bekwai Municipal Hospital, Dr. Frank Serebour, described as troubling the number of women discharged after delivery but unable to leave due to an inability to pay their medical bills. Patients’ inability to pay medical bills remains a challenge at the Bekwai Municipal Government Hospital.
Some beneficiary mothers thanked Pastor Emmanuel Dwamena Asiamah for his kind gestures towards them.
He encouraged others to follow suit and occasionally come to the aid of needy mothers struggling to pay their bills.
