The National Taskforce of the Electricity Company of Ghana has cautioned the Ridge Hospital management to settle the GH₵42 million debt within three working days.

According to the power supply company, in a demand notice to the hospital, failure to settle the debt will result in the disconnection of electricity supply.

In the quest of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) comprehensive effort to recover funds owed by customers to strengthen its operational capabilities, the National Taskforce of the power supply has disclosed its intention to disconnect 91 hospitals from the national grid due to outstanding debts owed to the power distributor.

These health facilities collectively owe a significant amount of GH₵261 million to the power distributor.

Available information obtained by Citi News from the ECG indicates that these hospitals will face power disconnection within 48 hours after receiving a “demand notice.”

Several prominent hospitals, such as the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, the 37 Military Hospital, Komfo Anokye and Manhyia Government Hospitals in the Ashanti region, Ho Teaching Hospital in the Volta region, and Kibi Government Hospital in the Eastern region, are among those facing potential disconnection.
