The National Peace Council has called on the authorities of Perez Chapel International and the Nogokpo traditional authorities to remain calm and not give in to provocations regarding the misunderstanding between the two groups.

The leader and founder of the Perez Chapel, International Archbishop Charles Agyinasare, recently described Nogokpo as a demonic headquarters.

The comment according to the people and elders of Nogokpo does not portray who they are and demand explanations from the Archbishop.

In a statement by the National Peace Council on the matter, the council said: “in pursuit of its mandate to facilitate conflict prevention, appeals to the Nogokpo Traditional Authorities and Perez Chapel International to remain calm and not give in to provocations as efforts are being undertaken to address the situation”.

The Council further calls on all those who have been affected in any way by the statement to exercise restraint and circumspection in their comments and pronouncements on the matter.

“The media and all those who make statements on the matter to exercise maximum restraint in their narratives to protect the peace, stability, and the integrity of our beloved country”, the statement added.
