The Sekondi Area of The Church of Pentecost, under the leadership of Aps. Daniel Kwajoe Sey has donated a parcel of land to Pentecost University to construct a campus for the Western and neighboring corridors of Ghana.

The land, measuring about 6 acres is located in a prime area in the town of Sekondi, in the Sekondi-Takoradi metropolis.

At an official ceremony to hand over the land, the Area Head of the Church in Sekondi, Aps. Sey said the Area Presbytery agreed to transfer the land to PU for the new campus.

This, they believe will expand access to quality education, especially in the Western Region and the neighboring countries.

He noted that the intention to transfer the land has been on their table for a long time and that members, past ministers of the church in the Area and the entire Western Region will be pleased to hear that the land has been donated to the university, and that a campus will be established soon.

Accordingly, Aps. Sey ceremonially handed over the land title documents to the University in the presence of the Area Executive Members and the Management of the University.

Upon receiving the documents, the Vice-Chancellor, Aps. Prof. Kwabena Agyapong-Kodua expressed gratitude to Aps. Sey, the Area Executives, the ministers and the entire Church of Pentecost in the Sekondi Area.

He noted that the University has started some of its activities in the Western Region and this land donation has come as a major intervention to propel the process of establishing a full-blown campus in the region.

The VC further noted that the University has the enormous responsibility of training people who will go out to possess the nations for Christ, and therefore called for continuous support and prayers.

On his part, the Registrar of the University, Mr. Foster Kobina Amoani handed over an envelope with an undisclosed amount to the Area “as an acceptance token for the land.” The Sekondi Area Deacon, Elder Charles Osei Amoako Enti who received the envelope thanked the University for the token of acceptance. Eld. Enti reiterated that the Area will continue to support the progress of Pentecost University in general and the establishment of the Sekondi campus in particular.

The official handing over ceremony was done at the Sekondi Area Mission House. Thereafter, the two teams toured the land and its surrounding area. After the tour, the VC said he was impressed with the size of the land, its location and the fence wall around it. He added that “what the Sekondi Area has done is for God and The Church of Pentecost, and it will remain a memorial in the history of the growth of Pentecost University.”

Here are some scenes from the ceremony and the tour of the land.
